The mission of Association des Jeunes Femmes du Maniema (AJFMa) is to promote the awareness and respect for the International Declaration of Human Rights, to defend and protect women's rights, and to contribute to the promotion of civic education, democracy, justice and peace. AJFMa also works to educate the youth on how to protect themselves from STDs and HIV/AIDS.

| Mission |
The mission of Association des Jeunes Femmes du Maniema (AJFMa) is to promote the awareness and respect for the International Declaration of Human Rights, to defend and protect women's rights, and to contribute to the promotion of civic education, democracy, justice and peace. AJFMa also works to educate the youth on how to protect themselves from STDs and HIV/AIDS.

- Promote women’s civil and political rights through grassroots organizing in Maniema
- Periodic consultations with local political, judicial and military authorities in Maniema in order to improve the situation for women in Maniema
- Legal assistance for women and girls who were victims of rape and sexual violence
- Training of children to participate in the “Children’s Parliament”
- Educate the public about women’s rights, human rights, democracy and peace through seminars and workshops
- Organize “reflection days” around the phenomenon of sexual violence
- Offer medical and psychological help to women and girls who were victims of sexual violence
- Produce memos regarding human rights violations, especially against women and children
- Regular visits to prisons and detention facilities in Maniema
- Radio programming about natural and inherited rights
- Meetings and discussions with women in rural villages and neighborhoods about their rights and democracy
- Education for primary and secondary school students about protection and prevention methods for AIDS and sexually transmitted infections
- 2005 seminar for women about the DRC elections
| Social Change |
- Legal and Human Rights Training: human rights training, and media outreach in Maniema, Guaranteeing the training of police officers and inspectors regarding the judicial system. Organizing seminars directed toward women during the elections in the Democratic Republic of Congo
- Capacity Building: Reinforcing the capacities of grassroots organizations involved in protecting and promoting women’s rights
- Conflict Resolution: Guaranteeing the advancement of rural mediators involved with conflict resolution
- International Campaigns: Dispersion of international and national tools relating to human, women’s and children’s rights
- Participation of the president in regional meetings in Conakry, Accra, Nairobi and Kinshasa
- Dissemination Activities: Publishing the pamphlet HAKI ZETU about women’s rights
