Donna Laverdiere and Butterflies

Donna Laverdiere grew up in a small town in Maine and went on to Tufts University in Massachusetts where she received her bachelor’s degree in English Literature. After college, she spent three years doing marketing in the publishing industry, and then for AT&T and Cadillac. During that time she spent her time off doing political organizing on women’s issues. She also helped found a nonprofit privacy rights organization. Deciding she wanted to focus her professional career on these pursuits, Donna is now working toward a Master of Public Policy at Duke University’s Terry Sanford Institute of Public Policy, with a focus in global policy. She plans to pursue work in women’s and children’s human rights advocacy upon graduation.

FIND A PARTNER

The Advocacy Project develops partnerships with advocates on the frontline and with nongovernmental organizations (NGOs). In so doing, we take our cue from partners and tailor any support to their needs.
