A Voice For the Voiceless

The Advocacy Project helps marginalized communities to tell their story, claim their rights and produce social change. We recruit graduate students to volunteer as Peace Fellows with partners.

The Impact of Service

"I look at myself as having the potential to be as strong and caring as the amazing women I met in Kenya."

Kate Cummings (Tufts University) volunteered in 2009 as a Peace Fellow for Vital Voices in Africa.

Devin Greenleaf and the Jagaran Media Center

Devin is a master’s student at American University’s School of International Service and an ardent enthusiast for the use of media for social justice. He is currently researching the intersection of communication and international human rights, and is active with American University’s Center for Social Media.

Devin developed his business and marketing skills in the private sector before pursuing his BA in English at the University of Utah. His spent his spare time programming the Amnesty International Human Rights Film Festival and teaching language and life skills to immigrants. Devin looks forward to utilizing the culmination of these experiences in a career combining advocacy and artistic media, and will begin this summer by creating awareness for caste discrimination in Nepal.
