The Advocacy Project helps marginalized communities to tell their story, claim their rights and produce social change. We recruit graduate students to volunteer as Peace Fellows with partners.

Criteria for Partners

AP has found that its support is most useful to groups that meet the following criteria:

Advocates on behalf of a large and disempowered constituency.
Emerges directly from the disempowered constituency.
Has a commitment to advocacy, OR commits to developing an advocacy plan.
Uses information tools.
Works for social justice.
Uses, or seeks to use, Internet communication tools.
Uses, or seeks to use, networking.
Has an impact in their societies that extends beyond their immediate communities.
Seeks to produce direct and measurable benefits for the affected communities.
Commits to hosting an intern (fellow).
Is transparently run and provides references and information when asked.
