A Voice For the Voiceless

The Advocacy Project helps marginalized communities to tell their story, claim their rights and produce social change. We recruit graduate students to volunteer as Peace Fellows with partners.

The Impact of Service

"I look at myself as having the potential to be as strong and caring as the amazing women I met in Kenya."

Kate Cummings (Tufts University) volunteered in 2009 as a Peace Fellow for Vital Voices in Africa.

Sarah Sachs and Alternative Information Center (AIC)

Sarah Sachs is an intern with AP's partner organization, the Alternative Information Center (AIC).

Sarah Sachs is joining The Advocacy Project from Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs, where she is currently pursuing a Master's degree in International Affairs with a concentration in economic, political and education development. Previously, Sarah taught English in Argentina and Germany and worked for several years as a manager in the dot-com industry.

Sarah is interested in the relationship between education, politics and conflict and plans to continue her studies at the doctoral level. She strongly supports the AIC's commitment to social and political justice, equality, solidarity, community involvement and respect for the full inalienable rights of all Palestinian people.

She hopes to contribute to their campaign by assisting with writing, technical capacity maximization and international outreach.
