Outreach Partners
By working through others, AP is able to reach many more beneficiaries, scale up services, produce more sustained outcomes and promote our model. As a result, we seek to build strategic outreach partnerships with other organizations that share our commitment to community-based social justice.
- The Association of Professional Schools of International Affairs (APSIA): AP presented to the 2007 annual meeting, is discussing future cooperation.
- The Bosniak American Advisory Council for Bosnia & Herzegovina: co-sponsored several outreach events on behalf of the Srebrenica weavers.
- The Center for Balkan Development: Co-sponsored events and a petition on Srebrenica.
- Churches Against Sex Trafficking in Europe (CHASTE): Works against trafficking in Europe, sponsored a Fellow in 2007.
- The Clinton Global Initiative: AP has been a member since 2007.
- Creative Learning: Introduced AP to the Peruvian forensic team, Equipo Peruano de Antropología Forense (EPAF), works with several other Latin American groups that could use AP’s model.
- The Friedrich Ebert Foundation (Jerusalem): Has a presence in Israel, Palestine and the United States, sponsored a research paper from AP in 2006 on human rights in the OPT.
- The Global Fund for Children: Has supported the Oruj Learning Center (Afghanistan), on advice from AP.
- The Global Fund for Human Rights: Supports community-based human rights groups, has recommended several partners in Africa to AP.
- The Global Fund for Women: Provides small grants for women, supported the Srebrenica survivors, on advice from AP.
- The Heinrich Boell Foundation: co-sponsored an event on Srebrenica.
- The Institute for the Study of International Migration, Georgetown University (ISIM): Specializes in trafficking and migration. Has provided two AP board members, co-sponsored human rights events at Georgetown University.
- International Center on Nonviolent Conflict (ICNC): Signed an agreement with AP to provide practical support to advocates on the front line.
- The Institute for Sustainable Communities (ISC): Empowers communities, sponsored two AP fellowships in 2007.
- The International Action Network on Small Arms (IANSA): is working with AP to develop a network against armed domestic violence.
- The National Endowment for Democracy: Shares two Fellows with AP.
- The Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights: Contracted AP to train nine visiting human rights fellows in Geneva in 2007.
- OneWorld: Disseminates information from over 1,000 member NGOs – a key outlet for AP’s news bulletins.
- Rights Action: Long-time AP strategic partner that promotes social justice in Latin America, introduced AP to ADIVIMA in Guatemala
- School of Foreign Service, Georgetown University: co-sponsor of the GU Human Rights Forum, has sponsored events on Peru, Palestine, and other.
- Survivor Corps (formerly the Landmine Survivors Network): Seeks to build an international network of survivor organizations
- The Zonta Women’s Club of Washington: Mentored several AP Peace Fellows. Co-sponsored outreach events for the Srebrenica weavers of BOSFAM.
- Global Young Leaders Conference (GYLC): Uses AP speakers at summer presentations for hundreds of visiting students to Washington.
- The Genocide Prevention Project (April 2009): Featured the Srebrenica Quilt during Genocide Prevention Month
- International Dalit Solidarity Network (IDSN): Lobbies for Dalit rights in Nepal
- Columbia Center for Human Rights: Has organized events for AP’s partner in Bosnia and exhibited the Srebrenica Quilt
- Women in International Security (WIIS) at Georgetown University: Founded e-mentors for Peace Fellows in 2009
- Theatre J: has drawn on AP at panel discussions on genocide in Bosnia and the Middle East
- Witness: Has used the photos of AP Fellows in making a film with AP’s partner, the Chintan Environment Action and research Group in Delhi.
- Clean Hands Project: Has organized photo exhibitions in the US for photos taken by reporters for the Jagaran Media Center
- B’tselem (Washington office): Has appeared at AP panels and drawn on AP to promote its 2008 launch
