A Voice For the Voiceless

The Advocacy Project helps marginalized communities to tell their story, claim their rights and produce social change. We recruit graduate students to volunteer as Peace Fellows with partners.

The Impact of Service

"I look at myself as having the potential to be as strong and caring as the amazing women I met in Kenya."

Kate Cummings (Tufts University) volunteered in 2009 as a Peace Fellow for Vital Voices in Africa.

Erin Wroblewski and the Friedrich Ebert Foundation

Erin Wroblewski is a 2007 graduate of the Walsh School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University. She holds an MA in German and European Studies and a Certificate in Refugees and Humanitarian Emergencies. Her MA thesis is titled Soldiers, Cops, Aid Workers and Election Monitors, Germany’s Role in Crisis Management.

Prior to her graduate studies Erin completed her BA with distinction from Indiana University and spent two years as a Fulbright scholar in Austria. She has also worked for the Germany Parliamentary Committee on Human Rights and Humanitarian Crises in Berlin and spent the summer of 2006 working in HIV/AIDS prevention in Arusha, Tanzania.

While pursuing her master’s degree at Georgetown, Erin worked concurrently at the Washington, DC office of the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES). FES is a German foundation committed to the principles of social democracy. Erin’s work as a congressional liaison at FES has focused on bringing US and German legislators face to face to engage in constructive dialogue on issues such as transatlantic cooperation in the Middle East and Afghanistan.

She is looking forward to continuing her work with FES to promote transatlantic cooperation in support of global human rights. Her academic work at Georgetown and practical experience in the United States, Europe and Africa will provide an excellent basis for her tasks as an Advocacy Project Peace Fellow at the FES office in East Jerusalem.
