The blocks for this quilt were stitched in 2012 by women in the village of Santa Teresa in Belize and celebrate the rich wildlife in the Sarstoon Temash National Park, which was threatened by oil exploration at the time. The stitching project was coordinated by Laura Burns, an AP Peace Fellow who volunteered at the Sarstoon Temash Institute for Indigenous Management (SATIIM). This quilt is one of two Belize forest quilts commissioned by AP. Both were assembled by Barbara Barber in Rhode Island.
