The Bangladesh River Gypsies Quilt (2014)

The blocks for this quilt were stitched by artists from the community of River Gypsies who live on the island of Mayadip in the River Meghna, Bangladesh. The project was sponsored by Subornogram, an advocate for River Folk and coordinated by Chris Pinderhughes, an AP Peace Fellow. The blocks were quilted by the Sister’s Choice Quilt Guild of Potomac, Maryland and are laid on a backcloth which depicts the River Meghna.
