The blocks for this quilt were stitched by a group of widows in Western Kenya and describe their experience of female genital mutilation. The project was sponsored by the Kakenya Center For Excellence and organized by Peace Fellow Charlotte Bourdillon, seen in the photo left. The blocks were quilted by Sarah Bourdillon, Jane Lee, Cathy Banks, and Kathleen Springer in Indiana, USA.
