Claire is a junior at the Notre Dame De Namur University in Pennsylvania and active in the university’s Global Leadership Program. Claire’s interest in humanitarian work began her freshman year of high school, when she was accepted into her school's Global Scholars Program, as well as when she was introduced to the service opportunities at her school. These opportunities have led her to tutor students in an orphanage in Kenya, volunteer at soup kitchens, and work with individuals with intellectual disabilities. These service projects have inspired her to pursue a future of helping others throughout the world. Additionally, she has had numerous opportunities at conferences, summer programs, and in school to work specifically on environmental issues. She has helped to promote the composting program at her school, and, with the help of the Advocacy Project, assisted in connecting an orphanage in Kenya with a composting program, and began teaching an environmental science class while tutoring students in Kenya.
