Kendall Siwonuk

Kendall is an advocate and storyteller working at the intersection of conflict legacy, community resilience, and global peacebuilding. An Ohio native shaped by her time as an educator in Kunshan, China and Washington, DC, she brings a global perspective, local. A Georgetown University graduate with a focus in international humanitarian studies, and a lifelong Mandarin student, Kendall has channeled that foundation into the field as a Mine Action Fellow, working firsthand with communities confronting war's aftermath in Laos, Cambodia, and Ukraine. Her published stories center the human experience of living alongside unexploded ordnance, and the vital work of clearance in protecting lives and livelihoods. Her advocacy efforts with Legacies of War extend from Capitol Hill to the United Nations and into her own New York City neighborhood, where she builds public awareness around UXO impact and mobilizes support for sustained demining funding. As General Manager of ARTICLE22, a sustainable jewelry brand that transforms metal remnants of war into wearable art, Kendall connects artisan communities in Laos and Ukraine to global markets, using this art as a form of continued advocacy and fundraising for nonprofit partners.
