Cody Impton is a first-year Public Policy graduate student studying at the University of Maryland. He seeks to work in international or domestic education efforts after graduation. Prior to his studies at UMD, Cody taught English for five months in Almeria, Andalucia, Spain through the Center for International Education Exchange. His passion for education and travel stems from his experience as a first-generation college graduate. Cody believes that education is a Human Right that must be guaranteed to every child, everywhere. After graduating with honors with a B.S. in Civil Engineering at the University of Florida in 2016, Cody applied to Teach For America and taught high school engineering in Charlotte, NC for two years. In this role teaching, Cody was a key part of transforming the Vance Academy of Engineering from a non-status academy to a 'Model" status according to the National Academy Foundation. In his spare time, Cody likes to spend time with friends, workout, play video games, travel when possible and go to the movies.
